We are looking for a skilled and motivated Shipping Clerk to join our team.

As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of shipping processes.

Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and monitoring shipments to ensure timely delivery.

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

**Responsibilities

  • Process and coordinate shipment orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide assistance in preparing shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
  • Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments, including checking for damages and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain inventory records and track stock levels to facilitate efficient order fulfilment.
  • Communicate with internal teams, including sales and warehouse, to address shippingrelated inquiries and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure smooth loading and offloading of shipments.
  • Arrange for necessary customs documentation and compliance with international shipping regulations.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure ontime delivery and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve any shipping discrepancies or delivery delays.
  • Continuously evaluate shipping processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and costeffectiveness.
**Requirements

  • Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Prior experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of shipping procedures and documentation.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer systems, including Microsoft Office, and software for accurate data entry and shipment tracking.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipping documents.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Basic math skills for calculating shipping costs and quantities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing shipping procedures and technologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fastpaced setting.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations or delays in shipping.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations is a plus, but not mandatory.
