Primary Purpose:

To assist management in meeting the safety, health, and environmental standards, implementing safety initiatives and ensure employee safety at work.


Job description / core competencies:
Implementation and monitoring of SHE management system.

Schedule and execute audits and ensure valid certification.

Carry out risk assessments on a continuous basis.

Provide SHE training, awareness and induction.

Keep SHE statistical records.

Contractor management.

Reporting.

Incident investigation.

Implement accident prevention and environmental impact activities.

Implement emergency and crisis management plans.

Act as emergency coordinator.

Weekly and monthly checklist verification.

Arrange and chair safety meetings.

PPE Management, laundry and cleaning of facilities.

People Management.

Ensure minimum OHSA legislative requirements are met.

Location:
Somerset-West, Western Cape

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

National Diploma in Safety Management or similar.

  • 5 years' experience in a safety function.
Proven knowledge of OHSA.

Demonstrated knowledge of HIRA and incident investigation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
