Main Purpose / Objective of the Position


Initiate, plan, monitor and complete all new client take-on's and internal project implementation across the utilities business with a specific focus on projects that generate revenue, add value, expand service offering or result in operational improvements.


Role Objectives \ Responsibilities

  • Receive new project brief and define the project in terms of scope, desired outcomes, stakeholders, impacts, cost and timeline and
    develop a detailed work breakdown structure.
  • Initiate, track, manage and ensure delivery of the project within cost, time and to quality specification.
  • Preparation, control and updating of project plans, regular client feedback reporting and progress reporting to management.
  • Manage internal and external teams, vendor management and project P&L
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures, process flows, risk analysis, RACI Charts and playbooks are in place for each client.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and address challenges that place the project at risk finding workarounds to ensure that the project remains on track.
  • Compile monthly reports of all projects in flight and plan and schedule new projects.
  • Support training and development of colleagues and broader utility management team
  • Provide ad hoc support on BAU activities of the team.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation, valueadd, expanded services and operational improvements across the Utilities Division
  • Conduct research and constantly seek out new innovations / technologies / activities / recommendations that will result in cost optimisation across all utilities.

Experience / Education

  • 3 year degree in Business Management, Property Management or project management
  • At least 5 years minimum experience within the utility's environment

Knowledge Required

  • Aptitude for figures and financial skills
  • Ability to integrated legal, technical and financial skills to produce clear and concise actions
  • Legislation and regulations with regards to municipal/government supply and services requirements.
  • Industry knowledge specific to area of accountability
  • Highly computer literate
  • Project Management principles
