QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

South African citizens/residents are preferred.

Applicants with valid work permits will also be considered.

BSc Engineering (or equivalent) with more than 3 years experience in a relevant technical and/or quality management environment.

Several years in engineering and quality projects preferably in the automotive industry.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Engineering

Quality Management

Project Management

Negotiation, communication and presentation skills

Computer skills (MS Office, Basic CAD knowledge)

English language (fluent in language and written form)

ADVANTAGEOUS TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Further education in the field of Quality Management

Experience in new model launch projects with GROUP or other OEMs

German language (verbal and written)

ROLE:


On the basis that the supplier is responsible for the product, process development, and quality of the parts, the incumbent is responsible and accountable for planning and managing all measures for preventative quality assurance to ensure that the parts in his/her parts spectrum are always ready for series production and their quality meets GROUP specifications during the product life cycle, including start-up, series production, and P&A.


Is responsible and accountable to establish quality targets for start-up, series production, and P&A production and ensures these targets are continually measured and achieved.

In this regard, continuous quality improvements must be achieved throughout the part life cycle.


Is responsible and accountable to obtain proof of product conformance, process capability, and quality assurance at the supplier and of the complete process chain during the product and process development phase, utilizing the appropriate quality tools.


Is responsible and accountable to conduct the process series, start-up capability evaluation, and initial sample approval of new parts and running changes, including test planning and coordinating the overall test result.


In the event of non-conforming material being identified in the plant, the incumbent is responsible and accountable to initiate and manage the defect eradication process and ensure that the necessary actions take place timely.

This can include mobilizing and leading teams to solve complex problems.

The incumbent is also responsible and accountable to support the Handling of Non-Conforming Parts procedure.


Is responsible and accountable to ensure total internal customer satisfaction regarding the quality of the parts in the relevant GROUP manufacturing areas.

Is responsible and accountable to initiate and support the escalation process, when and where appropriate.


Is responsible and accountable for continuously developing local suppliers in the framework of the Groups commercial, technical and quality requirements.


Is responsible and accountable to ensure that, using a robust international communication network, the interests of the relevant Group Development and Quality departments are adequately and effectively represented in GROUP SA.
