Quro Medical Medical Equipment Technician

Job Purpose:


To provide an efficient and effective administrative service to both the clinical and operation units in relation to supplementary oxygen for QM patients.


Reports to:

Chief Operations Officer

Responsible for:

Tracking, sterilising, and performing maintenance checks on all oxygen equipment.

You will also be required to operate all supplemantary equipment and perform routine equipment tests., while participating in all QM clinical operation activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tests on all oxygen concentrators and cylinders.
  • Examine and test oxygen equipment for malfunctions, faulty gauges, and leaks, as well as worn or loose parts.
  • Ensure that the concentrator to cylinder ratio is as communicated by the resources capacity committee.
  • Provide assistance with completing data capturing according to the EA to COOs requirements.
  • Track all movements of oxygen concentrators and cylinders.
  • Ensure all empty cylinders have been refilled and are readily available for the clinical team.
  • Liaise with locum pharmacist and/or the EA to COO in ensuring that oxygen consumables have been ordered as needed and on time to facilitate the timeous execution of clinical activities.
  • Attend to and record all oxygen concentrator and cylinder malfunction whether in or outside of the office.
  • Coordinate delivery and collections of oxygen equipment from and to patients homes.
  • Liaise with the clinical department to coordinate the distribution, repair and replacement of oxygen equipment from and to QM patient care locations.
  • Keep oxygen equipment records, including maintenance schedules and sterilization test reports.
  • Assist with medical equipment deliveries, installation, and calibration.
  • Assist the clinical department in tracking and following up all longterm oxygen requests for patients admitted to the Transitional Care Program (TCP).
  • Assist the Office Administrator with arranging for patient hardware collections.
  • Assist in the compilation and reporting of weekly, monthly and quarterly statistics in conjunction with the EA to COO and clinical units.

These include:

  • Summary of weekly oxygen usage by area and service
  • Weekly oxygen movement tracker
  • Weekly report of cylinder refills
  • Monthly report of oxygen account and breakdown of costs
  • Monthly breakdown of consumables used
  • Monthly report of maintenance and test sheets

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary certificate or diploma in Health Services Management
  • Driver's license
  • Own vehicle
  • 1 years experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in installing and operating medical equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Experience in keeping medical supply and equipment maintenance records.
  • Knowledge of best practices in healthcare.
  • Willingness to perform other tasks when required.
