POSITION:
QA - Officer




LOCATION:
Main Lab - Musgrave

JDJ Diagnostics requires a QA Officer to ensure processes meet the established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance:
Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, guidelines, and accreditation requirements applicable to medical laboratories.

Audit and Evaluation:
Conducting regular audits of laboratory processes, equipment, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.

Documentation:
Managing and maintaining accurate records of quality control processes, corrective actions, and any deviations from established protocols.

Training:
Providing training to laboratory personnel on quality assurance procedures, ensuring staff competency and awareness of regulatory requirements.

Investigation:
Investigating and resolving quality-related issues, including deviations, errors, and non-conformities, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Continuous Improvement:
Identifying opportunities for process improvement, recommending changes, and participating in the implementation of enhanced procedures.

Communication:

Collaborating with laboratory management, staff, and external stakeholders to communicate quality-related information and ensure a culture of quality within the laboratory.


Risk Management:
Assessing and mitigating risks associated with laboratory processes to prevent errors and improve overall quality.

Validation and Verification:
Overseeing the validation and verification of new test methods, instruments, and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Collaboration:

Collaborating with other departments, such as laboratory managers, medical staff, and information technology, to integrate quality assurance practices into overall laboratory operations.

  • Ad hoc requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: A bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Practical experience working in a medical laboratory setting, minimum of 23 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or a related field.
  • Certification: Certification in quality management or a related area, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical laboratories, such as GLP, SANAS & ISO1818
  • At least 2 years previous work experience in similar role

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to identify and address issues related to laboratory processes and quality control.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with laboratory personnel, management, and external stakeholders, facilitating the dissemination of qualityrelated information.
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
  • Training Skills: Ability to develop and deliver training programs to laboratory staff on quality assurance procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: Capacity to collaborate with diverse teams, including laboratory technicians, managers, and external auditors.
