Main purpose of the job:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of research projects including data collection, capturing, and analysis

Key performance areas:

  • Oversee study recruitment process
  • Conduct an informed consent process and data collection from participants
  • Address or refer queries from participants to the Senior Researcher or PI
  • Address relevant concerns and misconceptions about the study
  • Data collection from participants through structured interviews
  • Data capturing, verification, and cleaning
  • Abstraction of data from participant medical records
  • Maintain all participant files and filing systems
  • Storage and archiving of data according to SOPs (electronic and hard copy data)
  • Adherence to study protocols, good clinical practice, and ethics
  • Compile daily/weekly participant accrual reports
  • Support in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Complete all relevant project administration (e.g., participant reimbursements)
  • Conduct ethical submission and reporting
  • Document team meetings as and when required
  • Support the team with any other researchrelated activities
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast with relevant research findings
  • Management of project inventory and stock
  • Strong organizational, oral, and writing skills
  • Take ownership and accountability of tasks and demonstrates effective selfmanagement
  • Ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
  • Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
  • Take ownership of driving your own career development by attending training and development sessions and relevant meetings
  • Attend training and development sessions such as journal clubs, seminars, workshops, etc.

Valid driver's license

Required minimum work experience:

Minimum of 3 years working experience in a research (qualitative and quantitative) or surveillance environment

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be tactful and respectful
  • Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols
  • Good administrative skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
