Our client is currently looking for a
Head of Server Infrastructure
This is a
remote role.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
As the Head of Server Infrastructure, you will be responsible for overseeing.

the company's cloud and on-premises infrastructure and related vendor relationships. You will lead a team of

infrastructure professionals and ensure that the company's systems are secure, scalable, and available to meet.

Key Outputs:

  • Develop automated infrastructure service monitoring plans and ensure it is rolled out to all key infrastructure.
  • Develop comprehensive infrastructure incident response plans and ensure these are clearly communicated to and
- adopted by the relevant parties within the business.

  • Develop a disaster recovery plan for all operational infrastructure, and perform an auditable DR test every year.
  • Develop change management principles for all infrastructure activities that meets the key criteria (platform stability,
- uptime, and security).

  • Ensure proper support of the IT infrastructure environment, that meets the business needs (platform stability, uptime, and security).
  • Develop a complete set of documentation describing the individual infrastructure services and related details. (Contracts, SLAs, costs, support, changes, outages, etc.)
  • Maintain a detailed server security vulnerability risk log and review monthly.
  • Participate in or lead IT projects as directed by the IT project manager.
  • Proactive maintenance and planning of IT infrastructure.
  • Reactive maintenance to ensure business continuity.
  • Define a clear infrastructure policy, describing its use and adoption within the business.
  • Ensure that all resources needed for the department to operate is available when needed.
  • Ensure service availability targets are achieved, in line with operational needs of the business.
  • Manage, train and coach the infrastructure team so they can act effectively.
  • Accurate prioritization and disciplined time management.
  • Ensure the function collects and analyses the correct data to inform decisions.
  • Create and lead MOS and related meetings in line with national rhythms.
  • Ensure cost, metric and KPI reporting is accurate and on time.
  • Ensure all security and availability decisions are in line with operational business requirements when provisioning
  • Ensure that up to date SOPs are created and followed for all operational functions performed by the infrastructure team.
  • Ensure all relevant vendor SLAs are maintained.
  • Ensure that the support desk adheres to the defined SOPs & SLAs.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills: -**- 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of network and system administration principles and best practices, as well as regulatory requirements related to infrastructure.

Strong experience in Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure, from a design and support aspect (NOT negotiable):

  • Experience managing a team of infrastructure professionals.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as follows are highly desirable.
  • CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, or RHCE
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
