Global Forwarding Freight - South Africa has an opening for an
IT Technician where you will diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components to ensure the smooth running of computer systems.

The responsibilities include installing and configuring computer hardware and being the strong point of contact for IT Infrastructure support within the company.

In this IT Technician position

  • You will perform installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software and peripheral devices.
  • You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues and also be responsible for testing, repairing, and replacing damaged hardware.
  • You will be upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers and perform tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • You will ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • You will be providing support to users and being the sole point of contact for error resolving and reporting.
  • You will administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights and administer all equipment, hardware and software updates.
  • You will ensure network connectivity for branches and liaise with vendors and conduct daily backup operations as and when needed.
  • You will manage technical documentation and departmental SOPs for Infrastructure and attend to branch visits to provide onsite full helpdesk support.
  • You will engage with External Service Providers when required,

For Example:
Network Service Providers, Printing Providers, etc.

  • You will maintain working relationship DGF Computer Users and Local IT Vendors/ITS.

Now, here's what we need from you

  • 3 5 years' experience in an equivalent role or similar
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science
  • Must have a matric
  • Proven experience in the management of IT Infrastructure and System Development role
  • Proven record of identifying problems and resolving them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
