Main purpose of the job:

  • Manage Alexander Forbes Provident fund withdrawals and assist with following up on rejection of funds

Location:

    Key performance areas:
  • Termination of members, change of principal members, transfers, and claims queries according to the agreed processes and timelines
  • Verify and reconcile the payment of the medical aid and provident fund
  • Manage the provident fund withdrawals
  • Assist with following up on the rejection of funds
  • Reconciliation of part of the medical aid bills
  • Handle and resolve employees' complaints and act as a mediator between employees and 3 Party
  • Compile and submit relevant management reports
  • Process new and temporary employees, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other payrollrelated services to ensure the timely and accurate payment of all employees
  • Check for discrepancies in payroll information and/or documentation (i.e., time sheets) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
  • Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports for audit purposes and requirements
  • Process monthly payroll processes such as checking, reconciling, etc.
  • Provide project support as and when required (i.e., data verification audits)

Required minimum education and training:

Grade 12:

Diploma in Payroll Management or relevant degree in Human Resources Management:

-
Experience in Sage 300 and other Payroll Systems essential

Required minimum work experience:

-
Minimum 2 years experience in benefits and payroll administration:

-
Knowledge of employee benefits laws and statutory requirements would be an advantage

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficiencies in South African Employee benefits products such as Retirement Funds Benefits and Medical Aid Schemes
  • Have excellent attention to detail, and good analytical skills
  • Confidentiality, tact, and discretion must be maintained at all times
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to exercise discretion, high levels of initiative, and independent decisionmaking
  • Ability to problem solve and follow through on tasks
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and work to tight deadlines
