Our client is seeking a talented professional to fill the role of Director of Monitoring and Evaluation within their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and Enhancement of Management Systems and Strategy (30%):
  • Devise and execute monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) strategies along with related policies, guidelines, processes, frameworks, and standard procedures.
  • Analyze and present reports on organizational strategic priorities and specified outcomes.
  • Oversight of the development and implementation of efficient monitoring, evaluation, and accountability systems.
  • Collaborate with government officials to comprehend their data requirements and establish information systems to fulfill these needs.
  • Promotion of Evidence Usage Throughout the Organization (25%):
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service and guarantee the team's data and information necessities are satisfied.
  • Collaborate with the Data unit to create and maintain internal and public-facing dashboards for team and government use.
  • Develop a profound understanding of school health and remain updated on new and pertinent evidence, best practices, literature, and policy documents.
  • Work closely with Development, Communications, and Advocacy leaders to incorporate research priorities and outcomes into advocacy and policy alteration endeavors.
  • Strategic Leadership and Team Oversight (25%):
  • Identify areas for process enhancement across functions and steer efficiency initiatives.
  • Cooperate with the Chief Operating Officer to devise and execute comprehensive strategies for data management, analytics, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure these strategies align with the company's triumph and goal achievement in collaboration with the management team.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to formulate multi-year strategies and implementation schemes to integrate evidence into organizational decision-making.
  • Act as a respected consultant to senior management regarding monitoring and evaluation discoveries and best practices.
  • Lead, guide, and supervise direct reports, fostering a cooperative and results-oriented environment.
  • External Engagement and Industry Influence (20%):
  • Explore collaborations with research institutions, universities, consultants, and global coalitions.
  • Identify opportunities to share research outcomes in pertinent forums.
  • Manage abstract submissions and data presentations to donors or at conferences.
  • Document key insights, compile best practices, enhance audience engagement, and archive these discoveries.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in mixed methods research with advanced expertise in quantitative research methodologies and statistical analysis.
  • Background in conducting research within sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Strong capabilities in utilizing MS Excel, Tableau, and other applications, with advanced skills in one or more statistical and data analytics tools.
  • Prior track record of publishing journal articles and communication materials to distribute research outcomes.
  • Exceptional commitment to detail, follow-up, and meeting deadlines, coupled with a firm sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, social science, statistics, development studies, or a relevant field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in monitoring and evaluating public health programs, health systems, or social research.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in teams and projects.
  • Desired qualifications encompass a Ph.D. in public health, social science, statistics, development studies, or another relevant field; familiarity with Institutional Review Board processes; background in a rapidly growing or startup environment; and experience in an international organization operating in low- and middle-income nations.
