Neighbourgood, South Africa's leading co-living and co-working business, is looking for a dynamic and talented Venue Manager for our Home coming centre with excellent all round operational, hospitality and property management skills to join our team.


The Venue manager at HCC is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the different venue spaces and the overall building management functions.


The Venue Manager is responsible for managing venue spaces for hire to third party clients for a venue hire fee.

The spaces include theatres, open spaces such as gallery spaces, studio spaces, meeting/training rooms and or any other public space at the venue/building.

The Venue Manager is tasked with ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that clients and public enjoy a great customer experience when visiting or booking the venue.

Venue managers may also be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to attract new venue hire customers.

This might include canvassing of prospective clients, creating social media campaigns, advertising in local publications, or hosting events to build brand awareness.


Venue Manager Job Duties
The HCC Venue manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which include but not limited to:

  • Planning and managing the event against a set of venue hire conditions to ensure the clients meet the set operating requirements from start to finish, including coordinating dates, staffing of the venue, hiring staff, designing the event layout, and creating a budget for all anticipated costs.
  • Ensuring that all local by laws and regulations are followed regarding noise levels, serving times, OHSA compliance, and other factors to ensure we operate safe and successful events that add positively to the area.
  • Coordinating with catering suppliers to supply clients with options for food and beverage for their event.
  • Creating and maintaining an event calendar and schedule and communicating it to all staff members involved in the event including security and cleanup crews.
  • Coordinating with the finance team to ensure all suppliers are paid and clients are invoiced correctly.
  • Liaising with the regional facilities team and Technical Manager to ensure all R&M and operational items are addressed in a timeous manner.
  • Motivation of any expenditure or capex requirements to the Asset Manager and owner as required.
  • Preparation of annual budgets.
  • Submission of a monthly report on the performance and operational aspects of the venue and building.
  • Management of any third party tenancies or leases in the building.
  • Ensuring that the venue is prepared for the event by coordinating with the venue staff and handling any lastminute issues that arise.
  • Managing and appointing the venue staff and training employees as needed
  • Overseeing the setup of the event space including tables, chairs, sound equipment, lighting, and other staging elements in conjunction with the client.
  • Management and appointment of any third party SLAs for services and facilities.
  • Monitoring the event and troubleshooting problems as they arise.

Previous Experience
3 years plus venue management or event planning experience required.

  • No criminal record.
  • Own drivers license and reliable transport.
  • SA citizen.

Salary:
From R25,000.00 per month
