Your Mission
We are looking for a
Director of Global Expansion Africa to join our fast-growing
Global Expansion team.

Reporting to our
SVP of Acquiring Global Expansion, you will be supporting the team on the identification, solicitation and business development of 3rd party Acquiring Partnerships, both collect and connect service providers in Africa.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to make a significant mark on the Company's progress in the industry.

You will have extensive payment industry knowledge and experience with excellent interpersonal skills to work with various cross functional teams in ensuring global expansion is delivered.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownership of Acquiring Partners onboarding, ensuring that market entry strategy is adhered to in identifying new acquiring partners with competitive capabilities and commercial propositions.
  • Accountable for ensuring partner adherence to compliance, risk management, commercial & underwriting standards for onboarding and contracting, directing the commercial negotiation process with partner to maintain balance of risk and revenue.
  • Full autonomy and accountability for the negotiation of all commercial terms and conditions in partnership contracts, in collaboration with internal legal advisors and senior business leaders.
  • Reviews prospective partners to ensure alignment of business objectives, negotiate competitive pricing, and seeks visibility of partner roadmap and development plans impacting Nuvei Global expansion at a market and MCC/Vertical level.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • 8+ years in payments either at a major international acquirer or PSP required, the majority of which is spent working in high-risk verticals.
  • Highly developed commercial acumen with deep understanding of High-Risk Verticals especially Gaming Gambling.
  • Deep level of technical knowledge in onboarding and partner integration, with a focus on onboarding high risk merchants.
  • Deep understanding of Scheme and local regulatory frameworks and rules, particularly in E-Com, Travel, Gaming, Gambling, Forex, securities brokerage and Crypto Currency.
  • Experience with V/MC/Amex/JCB/CUP acquiring implementations or 3rd Party Acquiring partnership commercials and partner management experience required.
  • Strong familiarity with Acquiring as well as Alternative Payment Methods (APMs).
  • Leadership experience required, preferably commercial teams in Acquiring or Payments companies.
  • Degree or professional certifications preferred.
