RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing microbiological support to the production teams, specifically in the Fungi & Inoculants plants. They will be responsible for ensuring the quality control and quality assurance of the site.

 

  • Managing the Quality Management System, including quality assurance record keeping, reporting, and maintaining the ISO9001:2015 system
  • Interpreting QC results, ensuring availability of formulation instructions for production, conducting final QC pass or fail for formulated products including packing and issuing of expiry dates
  • Making recommendations to management regarding QA/QC issues, and implementing process improvements to increase throughputs and yield while reducing contamination losses
  • Oversee equipment servicing and maintenance of lab equipment, implement procedures and testing methods, and ensure staff have proper training, tools, and materials for lab tasks
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety measures in the laboratory area, including risk assessments, PPE adherence, and advising on MSDS for products and materials
  • Review and analyze quality-related production data, provide input for Production Review Reports
  • Issue certificates of analysis for site-manufactured final products, coordinate trial product sample requests to the technical and sales teams
  • Provide input for cost center budgeting and manage department budget, oversee coordination of Root Cause Analyses, Risk Assessments, Management of Change
  • Setting performance targets, conducting reviews, creating personal development plans for the Laboratory team
  • Engage with global colleagues on R&D projects and align to global audit requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology or an equivalent field
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role coupled with 2 years of management experience
  • Possess strong quality management experience, along with expertise in ISO9001:2015 certification and implementation
  • Certified as an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
  • Has experience and knowledge of EHS systems and requirements
