Main purpose

As a Research Co-ordinator, you will provide research project support to the Research and Development Manager and team. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

Logistics and Administration Related Research

Maintain an efficient administrative system, including keeping school and district information records and contact records. Create filing systems for existing data/documentation. Arrange logistics for research activities, including coordination between stakeholders and service providers.

Research

Assist with development of proposals, project plans and budgets. Assist with conceptualizing and write-up of research design and methodology. Draft research, fieldwork, and project schedules Monitor progress in research projects, including managing timelines and quality assurance of fieldwork. Assist in managing risks and development of contingency plans. Assist with orientation and training of regional managers. Conduct literature searches and reviews as required. Conduct literature searches and reviews as required. Assist with data cleaning and recoding. Assist with analyses of existing and new quantitative and qualitative datasets. Assist with report writing. Ensure that correct and ethical procedures, policies, and protocols are implemented in testing and research management.

Data Management

Develop and maintain an electronic filing system and tracking systems for data. Assist with design and management of capturing databases. Capture data as required in the research projects. Monitor quality of data captured, including doing checks for missing data, repetitions, and invalid data.

Produce Reports

Submit progress reports within research project requirements. Assist with compiling annual and other summative research reports.

Educational Requirements    

Master’s degree in education or social science. Background in psychology a strong recommendation.

Experience Requirements    

Minimum of 35-year research/project management experience in research institutions, universities and/or the NGO/NPO education sector

Experience in:

literature searches and reviews, as required. data collection (surveys, interviews, focus groups, photo voice, document analysis) data capturing data analysis report writing. presentation and dissemination, including data visualization. data collection and data analysis using technology.

Skills and Competencies    

Understanding of the Education Sector and Social Research Methods within MERL framework. Knowledgeable of action research a benefit Ability to work under pressure, results oriented, good interpersonal skills, deadline driven, ethical sensitivities, attention to detail, diligent, self-motivated, honest, integrity, leadership capacity, and professional in approach. Problem solving ability, analytical competency, organizing and prioritization skills, good verbal, and written communication skills, including good report writing skills. Virtual data collection and analysis skills, including relevant computer expertise (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
