Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of Composites, Coatings and Dispersions in Africa providing exceptional solutions for their customers. They believe that it is important to contribute to environmental sustainability and take pride in the ongoing development of their products.

 

We are on the hunt for an ambitious, confident technical salesperson to join our clients Durban team. 

The ideal candidate will have experience calling on a wide variety of industrial manufacturers. These could include boat builders, furniture manufacturers, the automotive industry and a myriad of other industrial clients. 
We are looking for candidates with a technical/engineering mindset who can learn technical products.  The ideal candidate will have experience in securing new business and will work closely with exiting clients, the focus will be on nurturing relationships. 

Working directly with the Coastal Sales Manager and the support team in the Durban branch this person will be responsible for all sales activities in the assigned accounts.  Partnering with our customers is fundamental. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service and manage customer accounts by building relationships, identifying new opportunities, understanding customer credit positions, and problem solving.
  • Research and understand current market trends.
  • Forecast customer off-take and evaluate sales targets regularly.
  • Responsible for all sales activities in the assigned accounts or regions.
  • Manage quality and consistency of products and service delivery.
  • Calling on customer experience.


RequirementsWhat we are looking for in you:
  • Grade 12 math’s, tertiary sales or related qualifications.
  • Practical experience managing customer accounts in the manufacturing/industrial or chemical industry.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ practical sales experience.
  • A track record in sales.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Sales - Initiate customer contact to identify products and services as required.  Once orders are placed the sales team will manage the process of payment and delivery. Current market trends must be understood, and a sales plan implemented to achieve a target.
  • Sales Admin - Must forecast and monitor sales of products and services. Sales targets must be evaluated regularly and adjusted if need be.
  • Relationship Management & Marketing - Identify potential customers and build customer relations. Agree on finance agreements and advise them of their credit position with our client to ensure continuity of supply of products and services.
  • Problem Solving - Identify and interpret problems affecting customers and take steps to solve said problems.

Requirements
