Trainee Accountant

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a driven and motivated Trainee Accountant to join our client's team in Gauteng. In this role, you will be provided with valuable hands-on experience and training while working towards becoming a qualified Accountant. As a Trainee Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with financial statement preparation, performing audits, and providing general accounting support. • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts
• Perform audits and assessments of internal controls
• Contribute to general accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax returns
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• BCom degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong academic track record, with a focus on accounting and finance courses
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is advantageous
• Working towards a qualification such as a CTA wanting to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus
