We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our client in the engineering industry, with a specialised focus on power plants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the power plant sector, exceptional sales skills, and the ability to manage complex projects and negotiations.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and market trends in the power plant sector.
  • Analyse competitor activities and industry developments to inform strategic planning.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and expand the customer base.
  • Identify potential clients and develop relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Understand client needs and requirements, providing tailored solutions to meet their business objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels such as networking, industry events, and cold calling.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
Requirements 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant.
  • Business development experience within the engineering sector.
  • Sales Background in products to the power-related sector within mining/ industrial manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Strategic and sophisticated approach when solving complex manufacturing problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
