Key Responsibilities:

As the Business Development Manager, you will be a key player in shaping the company's success by managing key client relationships, driving sales, and executing strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

Market Analysis & Intelligence:

  • Conduct in-depth market reviews and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Analyse sales reports and budgets to track progress and revenue growth. Sales & Business Growth:
  • Drive sales to achieve and exceed company targets.
  • Develop strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Manage key customer accounts and ensure a smooth sales process from lead to closing.
  • Oversee the order pipeline and ensure sales performance meets targets. Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, identifying their needs and proposing solutions.
  • Lead the preparation of quotes, proposals, and contracts for clients.
  • Travel to key client locations across Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg to ensure customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships. Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, ensuring they are motivated, focused, and meeting their goals.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to help team members enhance their skills.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, policies, and sales protocols. Operational & Strategic Oversight:
  • Oversee online sales, marketing campaigns, and new sales initiatives.
  • Resolve customer complaints and manage overdue payments and credit requests.
  • Assist with product development, pricing, and the production process. Administration & Reporting:
  • Manage all administrative tasks, including preparing reports, meeting minutes, and expense claims.
  • Maintain detailed customer records and regularly update the CEO on sales forecasts, performance, and market conditions. Customer Service & Retention:
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and addressing issues promptly.
  • Ensure customer retention by offering personalized solutions and service.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who is:

  • Experienced in the furniture industry with a strong understanding of market trends and customer needs.
  • Proven in driving business growth, achieving sales targets, and managing client accounts.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • A natural leader with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Honest, reliable, and hardworking, with a focus on results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in using software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, and Repsly software.

Additionally, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license and a reliable, roadworthy vehicle
  • Travel within Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and achieving business growth.
  • Train instore sale staff

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in the furniture industry.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships.
  • Experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and market analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales-related software tools.
  • Previous leadership or team management experience.
  • Ability to train sale staff and deliver strong Product knowledge.
  • Ability to initiate and close sales and be able to train sale staff to do the same.
