POSITION: DEBTORS CONTROLLER
REPORTING TO: DEBTORS MANAGER
LOCATION: WESTMEAD, KWAZULU NATAL
JOB PURPOSE:
Resolve outstanding queries timeously to enable maximum outcome on collections. Payment allocations must be done accurately at all times to allow for correct statements to be sent out to customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Full FMCG Credit Control Function
·
Telephonic collections and payment allocations
·
Claims management
·
Resolving customer queries
·
Management of customer credit limits and payment terms as per Trade Agreement
·
Financial credit requests/ rebates processed as per Trade Agreement
·
Uploading of month-end statements onto portals / websites of individual customers
·
Emailing of bulk statements to customers at month end
·
Management & evaluation of customer credit risk
·
Monthly cash collections forecasting
·
Monthly recon reviews with Debtors Manager
·
Weekly high-level updates on problematic accounts
·
Notifying KAM's & reps of problematic debtors
·
Annual external audit duties/support
·
Perform any other adhoc duties as and when required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
·
A Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting is essential
·
At least 3 years working experience in debtors within an FMCG environment is essential
·
A thorough understanding of general accounting principles
·
SYSPRO / ERP system knowledge will be beneficial
·
Advanced Excel skills essential
·
Proven experience in reconciliation of complex accounts
·
Experience in handling high volume accounts
·
Excellent telephone etiquette and time management skills
·
Excellent problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
·
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
·
Ability to communicate in Afrikaans will be beneficial
·
Ability to cope well under pressure
·
A track record of documented successes and achievements
·
Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and changing priorities
·
Innovative and adaptable
·
Highly organised and system orientated
