Job Description

Are you a numbers ninja with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for keeping things balanced (literally)? We're on the lookout for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a hands-on finance team in a growing business that values accuracy, initiative, and a good spreadsheet.

What the Role Is About
You'll take ownership of the full accounting function up to trial balance, working across payroll, tax, reconciliations, and reporting. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a structured environment but loves variety and getting stuck into the detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile bank accounts and petty cash
  • Full creditors and debtors function, including age analysis reviews and claims resolution
  • Handle payroll duties (hourly wages) using Sage, VIP or similar systems
  • VAT201, EMP201 and PAYE submissions via E-filing and Easyfile
  • Month-end journals, GL reviews, and management accounts
  • Maintain fixed asset register and assist with quarterly/year-end stock takes
  • Support annual audit processes

What We're Looking For

  • Financial qualification (degree, diploma, or equivalent)
  • 3+ years' accounting experience in a similar role
  • Excel pro with strong analytical skills
  • Detail-obsessed and accurate under pressure
  • Lives in or near Kraaifontein, Kuils River, Brackenfell, Durbanville, or Bellville
  • A fast learner who takes initiative and runs with it
