The Role: Bookkeeper This is a full-time remote role for an experienced bookkeeper who thrives in a dynamic, detail-driven environment. You'll manage financial records, VAT submissions, payroll processing, and supplier payments for a portfolio of UK-based creative industry clients. Working UK hours, you'll operate as an embedded part of each client's finance team,  providing high-quality, timely support while liaising with accountants and HMRC as needed. Key Responsibilities Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practiceMaintain accurate records in Xero, QuickBooks, or FreeAgentComplete bank reconciliations and post journalsPrepare and submit UK VAT returns (MTD-compliant)Manage supplier payments and client bank accountsProcess payroll, including PAYE and pensionsHandle HMRC communications and certificate requestsSupport year-end accounts and management reportingManage client inboxes and finance-related communicationsAssist with onboarding new clients and updating recordsSuggest and implement process improvements About You 3+ years bookkeeping experience in a UK accountancy practiceStrong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping, VAT, and payrollProficient in Xero (essential); QuickBooks or FreeAgent a plusStrong Excel skills and confident in using cloud-based toolsHighly organized with strong attention to detailClear communicator, able to explain finance to non-finance clientsAAT-qualified or equivalent practical experience preferredSelf-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working remotely
