As an Associate Data and Business Analyst at Pineapple Tech PTY LTD, you will play a vital role in supporting data-driven decision-making. Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive data analysis, creating visually appealing dashboards, and identifying operational challenges for efficient solutions. Collaborating across departments, you'll bridge the gap between data and business units, ensuring effective communication and understanding of needs. KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities, Duties, and Undertakings of an Associate Data and Business Analyst at Pineapple Tech (Pty) Limited:

Team Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with other Pineapple team members to provide data support, reports, analysis and data management.
• Collaborate with business unit heads and other management to provide accurate insights
• Provide analysis and data work to help inform strategic decision-making and business KPI tracking

ETL, data modelling, and dashboard creation/maintenance:

• Conduct, assist, and maintain comprehensive ETL processes in various data lake tables.
• Conduct data modelling as required.
• Produce, create, and maintain various internal and external-facing dashboards and reports.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support decision-making across various departments.
• Create and maintain regular reports and dashboards that provide insights into key business metrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and deliver accurate, timely, and relevant reports.

Dashboard Creation and Management:

• Design, develop, and manage interactive dashboards using BI tools.
• Ensure that dashboards are user-friendly, visually appealing, and provide actionable insights.
• Train end-users on how to effectively utilise dashboards for their specific needs.

Business Process Problem Solving:

• Identify operational challenges and come up with ways to better measure operational teams and performance
• Work closely with various teams to understand their processes and identify issues and areas of improvement
• Make use of LLMs to both assist with work efficiency and to help setup more efficient ways to query data in the future
• Monitor and refine solutions to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

• Act as a bridge between the data and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of needs.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to provide data and process solution expertise.
• Facilitate workshops or training sessions to educate staff on data analysis, dashboard usage, and the benefits of automation.

Meetings Participation:

• Attend, prepare, and participate in daily stand-up meetings.
• Attend and contribute to relevant sprint meetings.
• Organise and run meetings with a clear agenda related to work you have prepared or are embarking on

Innovation and Continuous Learning:

• Stay aligned to the latest trends in data analysis, data management and LLM usage, .
• Regularly explore new tools and methodologies that could benefit Pineapple.
• Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Participate in relevant workshops, training sessions, and seek mentorship from senior colleagues.
• Seek out guidance and support when necessary to assist in effectively meeting your targets and deadlines.

Project Support and Standards Compliance:

• Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of accuracy and informativeness.
• Work within a best practice and department standard framework.
• Comply with all company policies and standards related to data analysis.
• Ensure all processed data adheres to insurance industry regulations and data protection standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

BSci Computer Science/BCom Applied Information Systems or related field of study. Computer Science Engineering Mathematics Statistics Related Field.

Technical Skills:

• ETL processes.
• SQL / Python.
• Data visualisation.
• Cloud Solutions.
• Automation and low-code.
• LLM usage and RAG methodology.
• Data handling (NoSQL and SQL).
