About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Development Project Coordinator to support our growing project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of project management principles and frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid) within the software development industry.
Holding a project management certification such as a CAPM, PMI-ACP, PSM, or equivalent is not required, but will be advantageous.
You will work closely with the Enterprise Project Manager as their 2IC to ensure smooth project coordination, execution, documentation, and reporting, including basic project accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in project accounting, including tracking budgets, costs, and the financial status of the project.
- Create, maintain and update project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- Support project monitoring and control activities, including progress tracking, risk monitoring, and overall project status reporting.
- Create and maintain project presentations for internal and external stakeholders based on the status of a project.
- Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional internal and external teams to ensure alignment across project activities.
- Act as 2IC to the Enterprise Project Manager, providing administrative and operational support.
- Support the Enterprise Project Manager with Stakeholders Engagement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar software development project coordination role.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Experience with project management tools advantageous (e.g. Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).
- Project Management certification advantageous (CAPM, PSM, PMI-ACP or equivalent).
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid model: Combination of remote and in-office work (after the initial 3 months).
- Must reside in Cape Town and be available to work from the office at least three days per week (Northern Suburbs).
- Must be willing to attend in-person meetings as and when required.
