Senior Procurement Coordinator
for our Supply Chain office.
Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Procurement Coordinator will support the Supply Chain Manager in overseeing daily procurement operations and assisting the buyer team. This role is key to ensuring that sourcing, purchasing, and ERP processes run smoothly while driving continuous improvement and resolving operational challenges. The candidate will act as a bridge between the procurement team, suppliers, and internal stakeholders such as engineering and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight
: Review daily material run outs and implement corrective action plans to prevent production delays. - ERP System Management:
Assist with ERP setup, maintenance, and rule-based purchasing controls to ensure system accuracy and efficiency. - Supplier Engagement:
Conduct supplier negotiations for routine items and manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure service levels and cost targets are met. - Project Coordination:
Manage unique procurement projects from requirement definition through to order fulfilment, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. - Stock Level Management:
Monitor and optimise inventory levels, particularly low-value or consumable items, ensuring sufficient stock availability without overcapitalisation. - Supplier Onboarding
: Coordinate new supplier setups within the ERP environment, ensuring all documentation and system requirements are complete. - Consumable Review
: Inspect consumable usage and identify opportunities for alternative products or process improvements. - Strategic Sourcing:
Support strategic sourcing initiatives, including cost-saving projects and supply base diversification. - BOM Accuracy
: Collaborate with engineering teams to verify that Bill of Material (BOM) specifications and ERP data align with actual production requirements. - Firefighting Support:
Act as the first point of contact for daily operational issues within the procurement function, escalating complex matters to the Supply Chain Manager.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, and cost analysis.
- Proficient in ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Good negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years' experience in a procurement or supply chain coordination role.
- Experience working with ERP systems and multi-supplier environments.
- Exposure to technical or engineering-driven environment
