Purpose of the Role:
The Sales Agent / Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while managing and growing an existing client base. The role combines proactive business development, relationship management, and strategic sales execution to achieve sales targets and strengthen MIE's market presence.
Core Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
Identify, explore, and secure new business opportunities to expand market share.
Conduct market research to identify potential industries, clients, and emerging trends.
Build a sustainable pipeline through lead generation, networking, cold calling, and digital channels.
Client Acquisition & Retention
Acquire new clients while protecting and growing revenue from existing accounts.
Upsell and cross-sell products and services to meet evolving client needs.
Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships with decision-makers.
Key Account Management
Manage a portfolio of key clients, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
Conduct regular client meetings, reviews, and performance updates to drive retention and growth.
Understand client pain points, develop tailored solutions, and ensure service delivery.
Sales Process & Targets
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
Prepare proposals, presentations, and tenders (RFPs, RFIs).
Lead negotiations and close contracts ensuring mutual value.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting on pipeline, forecasts, and sales performance.
Collaboration & Strategy Execution
Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, operations) to ensure effective solution delivery.
Provide market intelligence and feedback to influence service offerings and sales strategy.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and sales activities in CRM.
Report on competitor activity, market trends, and customer insights.
Ensure daily updates on client manager and activity reports.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Comply with workplace policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Report risks, incidents, and workplace changes impacting work performance.
Experience, Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Grade 12 (essential).
Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Business (advantageous).
Experience
3 – 5 years' experience in Sales, Business Development, and Key Account Management.
Experience in Bureau / Data / Software / Credit / Financial Services industry (advantageous).
Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
Solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
High emotional intelligence and ability to influence stakeholders.
Strong organizational, time management, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
CRM system experience.
