Job description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the design and implementation of innovative ICT solutions. This position requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional communication skills, and hands-on experience in business process re-engineering within technology-driven environments.

Responsibilities and Duties


• Conduct business process analysis and requirements gathering to identify system and process improvements.


• Engage with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.


• Perform gap analysis between current and desired business states to recommend optimized solutions.


• Work closely with developers, project managers, and solution architects to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented effectively.


• Develop process maps, workflows, and use cases using recognized modeling tools and methodologies.


• Facilitate business process re-engineering (BPR) initiatives to streamline operations and improve efficiency.


• Support testing, validation, and user acceptance (UAT) to ensure successful solution delivery.


• Participate in change management and continuous improvement projects to align business objectives with ICT solutions.


• Prepare business cases, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.


• Ensure alignment of business analysis deliverables with industry best practices and frameworks.

Desired Experience & Qualification


• Appropriate ICT degree or equivalent qualification.


• Diploma or certificate in Business Analysis (mandatory).


• Minimum of 6+ years' experience in a Business Analysis or similar role.


• Certified in Business Analysis or Business Process Re-engineering (e.g., Six Sigma, BABOK, or equivalent).


• Proven experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.


• Strong understanding of business process modeling, data flow analysis, and system integration.


• Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.


• Experience working in ICT projects, particularly in enterprise environments.

Technical Skills & Competencies


• Business Process Modeling Tools: MS Visio, Bizagi, Lucidchart, ARIS


• Requirements Management Tools: Jira, Confluence, Trello, Azure DevOps


• Modeling & Documentation Standards: BPMN, UML, BABOK Framework


• Analysis Techniques: Gap Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, SWOT, Use Case Modeling


• Project Methodologies: Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Waterfall, Hybrid


• Data & Reporting Tools: MS Excel (Advanced), Power BI (basic exposure preferred)


• Software Knowledge: SAP, ERP systems, CRM platforms, and custom ICT solutions


• Testing Support: UAT coordination, test case documentation, defect tracking


• Change Management Tools: Prosci ADKAR or equivalent methodologies
