Sales Training & Quality Control Manager
who combines sales expertise with people-development skills.
About the Role
This is a
hands-on position
dedicated to training, coaching, and maintaining quality standards within our team of travel consultants.
You will work closely with consultants to build product knowledge, refine sales skills, and enhance communication with clients.
At the same time, you will ensure that all client interactions and bookings are handled with professionalism, accuracy, and care, according to the internal processes
The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example — confident in selling, passionate about sharing knowledge, and committed to upholding high standards across every step of the sales process.
Your Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Design and implement structured onboarding programs for new consultants and continuous learning initiatives for existing staff.
- Coach consultants in both the technical aspects of travel sales and the softer elements of communication and persuasion.
- Support consultants in developing conversational and sales approaches that build trust, align with our company's values, and convert enquiries into bookings.
- Facilitate regular feedback sessions, role-plays, and workshops to reinforce skills and create a culture of growth.
Quality Control & Support
- Monitor and evaluate sales activities across all communication channels, including calls, video meetings, and written correspondence.
- Review quotations and bookings in our booking system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal procedures.
- Identify training needs or procedural gaps and address them through targeted guidance and support.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback that helps consultants improve both performance and confidence.
Leading by Example
- Actively demonstrate best practice through occasional direct involvement in sales and client interaction.
- Model professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in all aspects of the sales process.
- Build trust and respect within the team through approachability, consistency, and credibility.
What We Are Looking For
- A background in the
travel and tourism industry
, ideally within companies that sell Africa as a destination. - Strong knowledge of
East and Southern Africa
, including safari products, destinations, and travel logistics. - Proven success in
selling travel packages and tours
. - Experience in
training, mentoring, or coaching
sales staff. - Deep understanding of
sales psychology
and client relationship management. - Experience with
Tourplan
or a similar booking system is an advantage. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional German language skills are a plus.
