Tax Administrator Assistant
to join their growing tax team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and enjoys working across a wide range of SARS processes and client support functions.

Key Responsibilities

SARS Registrations & Profile Management


• Handle registrations, de-registrations, updates, and tax representative changes


• Manage client onboarding and eFiling profile transfers


• Maintain accurate SARS and internal client profiles

Documentation Management


• Request, obtain, verify, and prepare supporting documents for SARS submissions


• Prepare income/expense summaries for rental & trade activities


• Maintain organised digital records and detailed file notes

SARS Interaction & Follow-Ups


• Submit documents via SARS platforms and follow up until resolution


• Log, track, and escalate cases and verifications


• Communicate with SARS officials via calls, online portals, and appointments

Compliance & Reconciliation


• Obtain and reconcile ITA34s, VAT statements, EMP SAs, etc.


• Assist with resolving outstanding returns and discrepancies


• Prepare tax packs and submit nil or simple returns

Internal Support


• Assist the tax team with admin, workflow tracking, and meeting deadlines


• Support other internal departments with tax-related matters


• Assist with dispute timelines and documentation

Client Communication & Service


• Request outstanding information and provide updates


• Deliver professional, timely communication and maintain strong client relationships

Minimum Requirements


• Relevant NQF Level 4 qualification (Tax, Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, etc.)


• 2–3 years in tax administration/compliance support (advantageous)


• Proficiency with
SARS eFiling
, online queries, and appointment systems (essential)


• Strong MS Office & Adobe PDF skills


• Experience in a tax, accounting, or professional services firm (preferred)


• Tech-savvy and comfortable with workflow/practice management software

• Professional communication with clients and SARS officials
