To manage engineering data management and plant configuration capability, and to co-ordinate and manage the resources of the data department efficiently and effectively in line with the engineering operations and client requirements.
Minimum Requirements- Matric,
- CMII Certified
- 10 years experience on a recognized PLM tool
- 10 years Configuration , Document and Records Management experience, implementing and maintaining systems.
- A minimum of 2 years management experience.
- Complex Thinker, interpretation of engineering drawings and isometrics.
- Proven experience within Marine or Similar Projects.
- Integration experince across Mech, electrical, Architecture, Procurement, Quality and Safety Requirements
- Ensure the effective implementation, constant improvement of the Configuration-, Document- and Records Management system on Teamcenter PLM tool that complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 10007, and International Best Practices.
- Manage plant configuration and life cycle management on BNE projects.
- Manage the implementation, maintenance, improvement and licensing of product life-cycle management software tool, Siemens Teamcenter.
- Manage all technical information and records management which includes offsite storage, retrieval and disposal of records as per company policies and procedures.
- Management of the BNE library and legacy data recording.
- Accountable for configuration management system which ensures that designs are traceable to requirements, that change is controlled and documented, that interfaces are defined and understood, and that there are consistency between the product and its supporting documentation.
- Ensure the management system provides documentation that describes what is supposed to be produced, what is being produced, what was produced, and what modifications have been made of what has been produced
- Responsible for configuration item identification, standard product structures, product configuration information, product baseline management, and product change management.
- Provide training on Configuration-, Document and Records Management principles to all Engineering Projects at Head Office and Babcock Sites.
- Conduct configuration audits on projects and ensures that statutory information is kept for the legal time period.
- Maintenance and Implementation of Configuration Management Processes.
- Receives general administrative direction from general engineering management. Prepares weekly operational reports, monthly department reports and attends regular engineering, client and project meetings.
- Support the sales, business development and proposals department in the preparation and providing inputs to tenders where required.
- Maintenance of the Information Assurance Maturity Model (IAMM) for information security at Babcock Ntuthuko Engineering.
- Manage, lead and develop the Engineering Data department resources to ensure they provide professional service to the business.
