Background

Greenplan is an engineering firm active in the built environment. Our core expertise is in building energy and air flow modelling and related areas such as thermal comfort, air-conditioning loads, municipal compliance and wind pattern prediction.

Position

We are looking to fill a niche position in our Somerset West-based company. As a small, cohesive team, we need a production engineer to perform a customised combination of duties. These would include energy model creation in DesignBuilder and related postprocessing and report writing, as well as interaction with the client and project team. The person would be willing to learn new skills and undertake site visits. The position also requires provision of DesignBuilder technical support and sales assistance to clients. The work is largely computer based. The position is in-person at our Somerset West office.

Hours

Full time, 5 days per week.

Skills

Good written and spoken English and sufficient Afrikaans for basic communication via telephone/email

Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows environment

Willingness to learn additional skills

Good initiative within a defined framework

Able to follow a defined process with attention to detail

Driver's licence (with access to a means of transport for site visits)

Previous experience

CAD knowledge (geometry modelling)

Salary

Starting salary between R gross cost to company per month. No medical aid or pension benefits.
