Hire Resolves client is looking for a Junior Technician. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Town. The Junior Technician will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting, with a focus on Point of Sale (POS) systems and IT infrastructure. The role requires a hands-on approach to support, maintenance, and system configuration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for POS systems and related infrastructure

  • Add and register users and waiters in the POS system

  • Manage and generate POS system reports

  • Configure and maintain POS databases

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network and serial printers

  • Assist with stock control processes and related troubleshooting

  • Add recipes and costing data provided by stores into the POS system

  • Deliver general IT support including hardware maintenance and system repairs

  • Install and support Microsoft operating systems, from Windows 11 to Windows Server 2022

  • Support and maintain computer, laptop, and server hardware

  • Troubleshoot and maintain network components including WLAN, LAN, VOIP, and WAN environments


Requirements

  • Understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems

  • Knowledge of POS database setup and maintenance

  • Experience with configuring printers and other peripheral devices

  • Solid understanding of stock control processes

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 11 to Server 2022)

  • Ability to build, repair, and maintain PCs, laptops, and servers

  • Networking fundamentals and experience with WLAN, LAN, WAN, VOIP environments

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant IT certifications or qualifications

  • Must be punctual, presentable, and have a strong work ethic

  • Quick learner with the ability to work under pressure

  • Valid driver's license is essential
