Our client, a leading international company is seeking an experienced Head of SEO in Johannesburg to lead its SEO strategy across various markets. With a passion for sports, especially soccer, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sports betting industry and a proven ability to drive growth through innovative SEO strategies. The role will require overseeing a team while continuously improving and optimizing SEO initiatives for the company's websites.

Your key job responsibilities as the Head of SEO in Johannesburg will include:

  • Lead and manage a team to contribute to the acquisition and retention strategies across all markets.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize SEO strategies for multiple websites.
  • Conduct keyword research and analysis to improve website rankings.
  • Analyze data and generate detailed reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest SEO developments, online behaviors, and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities and create scalable plans for SEO growth.
  • Develop and execute effective SEO campaigns.
  • Monitor and track performance metrics for SEO campaigns, using data to refine and adjust strategies.
  • Provide insights on SEO forecasting, budgeting, and overall direction.

Requirements for this Head of SEO job in Johannesburg:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in a senior search engine optimization role.
  • 4+ years of relevant SEM experience, including on-page and off-page SEO, link building, social media, and PPC.
  • Solid understanding of analytical software.
  • Degree or diploma in Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven track record in team management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in strategic planning and business management.
  • Excellent knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking strategies, and the SEO industry.
  • Attention to detail with strong numerical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
