Full-Stack Web Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Full-Stack Web Developer to join our team and take ownership of our digital ecosystem. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across multiple platforms, managing custom-built systems, and building reliable, well-structured solutions.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our custom PHP-based ecommerce website, several custom WordPress (Bootstrap 5) builds, and ensuring seamless integration between systems using APIs. You will work closely with the performance marketing team and report directly to the company's Marketing Director, contributing to analytics implementation and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Custom PHP E-commerce Platform

●      Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot our proprietary PHP ecommerce website.

●      Work with live API integrations for:

●      Product data (stock, units, pricing)

●      Order processing and syncing with an internal management system

●      Implement updates, new features, fixes, and optimisation improvements.

●      Ensure system stability, security, and scalability.

2. Custom WordPress Development

●      Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes using Bootstrap 5 & Tailwind CSS.

●      Build and manage Custom Post Types, taxonomies, and custom SQL-driven components.

●      Extend WordPress functionality via custom plugins.

●      Manage site performance, speed optimisation, and security hardening.

3. API Integrations

●      Integrate with third-party APIs including:

●      Everlytic (newsletter & marketing automation)

●      Other external systems as needed

●      Ensure accurate data transfer, error-handling, logging, and performance optimisation.

4. UI/UX Awareness

●      Work with the design and product teams to improve user flows and front-end experiences.

●      Implement clean, mobile-responsive, user-friendly interfaces.

5. Analytics & Tracking Implementation

●      Implement Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), and tracking scripts.

●      Support the performance marketing team with:

●      Event tracking

●      Conversion tracking

●      Debugging and validating data accuracy

●      Ensure full measurement coverage for campaigns and funnels.

Key Skills & Experience

Required

●      3–5+ years experience in PHP development.

●      Strong experience with WordPress custom theme & plugin development (not just page builders).

●      Solid understanding of Bootstrap 5, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

●      Experience working with and building RESTful API integrations.

●      SQL proficiency (MySQL or MariaDB).

●      Ability to debug complex issues across front-end, back-end, hosting, and APIs.

●      Experience working with Git or version control systems.

Advantageous

●      Experience with UX/UI best practices.

●      Experience with performance optimisation (front-end & back-end).

●      Experience with ecommerce platforms (custom or WooCommerce).

●      Familiarity with Everlytic or similar email / marketing automation APIs.

●      Understanding of GA4, Google Tag Manager, event modelling, and performance tracking. (Implementation only)
