 is a fintech platform building unified payment, wallet and commerce infrastructure across Africa, covering VAS, POS, wallets, events commerce, and API-driven financial products. Both companies run fast and lean, and need an organised person to keep the financials clean and daily admin flowing.

Role Description

The Bookkeeper and Admin will be responsible for financial statements, bookkeeping, using accounting software, managing finances, and handling journal entries. On the administrative side, the role includes organising company documentation, managing day to day operational tasks, supporting procurement and supplier onboarding, coordinating meetings and schedules, and ensuring internal systems stay updated and running smoothly.

Role Overview

This role combines bookkeeping
 with 
administrative support
 to ensure both companies run smoothly. You will manage financial records, reconciliations, suppliers, invoicing, and support general admin tasks like documentation, scheduling, and internal organisation. You will work directly with the founders and external accountants. This role suits someone disciplined, reliable, detail-driven and comfortable balancing finance tasks with operational administration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bookkeeping

  • Maintain clean and accurate books for TGM and Pagamio.
  • Record income, expenses, journals and adjustments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, digital wallets, payment gateways and petty cash.
  • Prepare VAT workings and assist with submissions.
  • Process monthly payroll inputs and track leave / reimbursements.
  • Support accountants during year-end reviews and audits.

2. Accounts Payable

  • Capture supplier invoices and ensure supporting documents are complete.
  • Prepare payment runs and maintain creditor schedules.
  • Manage supplier communication and follow up on statements.

3. Accounts Receivable

  • Generate client invoices and track payment status.
  • Follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain clean debtor reports.

4. Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries.
  • Assist with cash flow tracking and basic forecasting.
  • Keep all reconciliations and records audit-ready.

5. Administration

  • Manage internal documentation, filing, and digital organisation.
  • Help maintain SOPs, onboarding documents and business records.
  • Assist with scheduling, meeting prep and internal coordination.
  • Support procurement documentation and supplier onboarding.
  • Assist operational teams with processing small tasks when needed.

6. Operations Assistance

  • Coordinate small logistics tasks (courier bookings, basic inventory checks where required).
  • Assist Pagamio with administration for partners or clients when needed.
  • Ensure information and tasks do not fall through the cracks between teams.

Requirements

Essential

  • 3 to 5 years bookkeeping or finance admin experience.
  • Strong reconciliation skills.
  • Experience with accounting software like Xero, Sage or Pastel.
  • Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and administrative ability.
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

Beneficial

  • Understanding of payment gateways, wallets, or POS transactions.
  • Experience preparing VAT returns.
