Advisory Services Manager

The Advisory Services Manager is responsible for acquiring new Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) for a Sanlam Marketing Organisation (MO) and ensuring the effective placement of financial advisors in alignment with the strategic vision of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Financial Advisors and the Administration team.
  • Drive continuous recruitment, interviewing, and vesting of new financial planners.
  • Lead and manage people effectively.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Market the region to grow market share.
  • Foster and maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Implement effective systems and processes to deliver optimal client services.
  • Oversee the management and operations of back-office setup and functions.
  • Drive profitable growth through strategic planning, execution, and management.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to both individuals and the team.
  • Lead the team to achieve business growth and meet monthly targets.
  • Report and monitor goals and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the broader organisational group.
  • Supervise and mentor new financial planners.

Skills, Qualifications, and General Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a management position is advantageous.
  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • BCom degree in fields such as Business Management or Investments.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in the financial services industry, focusing on risk and savings.
  • 2 to 5 years' relevant management experience.
  • Familiarity with the SANLAM product range is advantageous.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in establishing new ventures preferred.
  • Business process experience, including new business, underwriting, and claims.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and advice processes, including tax, structuring, and estate planning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry.

Vaardighede, Kwalifikasies en Algemene Vereistes:

  • Graad 12 kwalifikasie.
  • Minimum van 1-2 jaar ervaring in 'n bestuursposisie is voordelig.
  • Rekenaarvaardigheid, met kennis van die MS Office-pakket.
  • BCom-graad in velde soos Besigheidsbestuur of Beleggings.
  • 3 tot 5 jaar ervaring in die finansiële dienste-industrie, met 'n fokus op risiko en spaarprodukte.
  • 2 tot 5 jaar relevante bestuurservaring.
  • Bekendheid met die SANLAM-produkreeks is voordelig.
  • Sterk besigheidsinsig, met ervaring in die opstel van nuwe ondernemings is 'n voordeel.
  • Besigheidsproses-ervaring, insluitend nuwe besigheid, polisering en eise.
