Taxation Manager

About the Role
HYPE – Youth is seeking a skilled and experienced Taxation Manager to lead our taxation function and support organizational growth. This role is ideal for a technically strong tax professional with leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys advising clients, managing compliance, and mentoring teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate submission of PAYE, CIT, and VAT returns.
- Manage SARS E-Filing, including applications such as Section 200, deferrals, diesel refunds, and customs disputes.
- Draft and lodge objections, appeals, and submissions to SARS, the Tax Board, and Tax Court.
- Conduct tax planning and advisory services for clients.
- Represent clients in meetings with SARS.
- Lead and mentor the taxation team, collaborating with HR and management.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Taxation or BCom Honours in Taxation (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years post-articles experience in taxation or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of the Tax Administration Act, Income Tax Act, Employees Tax Act, and Customs & Excise Act.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Advanced computer literacy and familiarity with SARS E-Filing systems.
