Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Analyst (Assistant Manager Level) to join our consulting team in Cape Town. This is a 12-month contract role, ideal for junior corporate treasury professionals looking to further develop their skills in a dynamic consulting environment. You will support the operational activities of our clients' treasury functions, focusing on back- and middle-office processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily treasury operations for clients, including cash management, transactional management, and settlement activities.
  • Manage and maintain treasury systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare and deliver end-of-day and periodic treasury reports using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Assist with liquidity management and forecasting, ensuring optimal cash flow for client operations.
  • Support risk reporting and analysis, identifying potential exposures and assisting with mitigation strategies.
  • Administer bank accounts, including account opening, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve treasury-related queries.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the treasury function.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a treasury or similar finance role.
  • Exposure to, and basic working knowledge of, treasury systems.
  • Postgraduate qualification in finance or a related discipline.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
