Treasury Analyst

**Treasury Analyst**

This role is responsible for supporting the Balance Sheet Management Quantitative team by performing research and analysis of quantitative financial data and developing financial models for market, credit and liquidity risks. The role also involves risk management of traditional life insurance products.

The Group Treasury team is a key part of the Group Balance Sheet Management function. The team focuses on treasury management initiatives and investigations. This is a dynamic team, with a strong focus on technical fluency and disciplined stakeholder engagement. Members of the team can be expected to gain broad exposure to areas such as treasury management, funding management, capital management, quantitative finance, complex legal, tax and regulatory issues, and corporate financial strategy. The role reports to the Senior Group Treasury Manager.

**Duties**:

- Preparation of documentations for approval - Capital and Funding requests
- Management of Compliance and Governance matters (Legal, Tax Group Operating Model, etc)
- Facilitation of settlement instructions for movement of funds across the group and external counter parties
- Assisting with tracking of payments made, and preparing for upcoming payments
- Monitoring of Investment mandates and processes
- Review and confirmation of adherence to all Treasury governance requirements and Group Policies
- Assistance with maintenance and tracking of Funding and Capital movements
- Assistance with maintenance of Group companies loan register and related transactions
- Assist with Capital Management, Cash Flow Forecasting and Funding Plan production and tracking of business commitments
- Assist with Funding Management when required
- Preparation of cash, liquidity and funding regulatory reports
- Providing input into strategic treasury projects and investigations; some examples include:

- Optimizing treasury and cash management structures across segments, the group and across regulatory frameworks
- Supporting on the debt capital programmes, debt issuances, investor road shows, coupon payments and credit rating agency requirements
- Dividend management, accessible capital calculations and forecast and execution of dividend payments
- Analyzing commercial aspects of capital investments, and new and existing products
- Assessing treasury initiatives at a segment level to meet group targets
- Assessing internal and external cash management reporting projects.
- Input could include quantitative modelling and analyzing of key financial/risk metrics;
- Working with internal and external stakeholders,
- Monitor and engage with subsidiaries on current and future cash and capital positions
- Assisting group treasury in identifying strategic and commercial opportunities across the Group

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Essential: Graduate degree (e.g.BComm, CA, Finance, Banking and Actuarial)
- Additional professional qualification (e.g. SAICA, FASSA, CFA) an advantage
- 2 - 4 years' working experience, preferably in balance sheet management, treasury, capital and / or life insurance experience within an insurance or banking entity with a specific focus on capital management, funding management, cash optimisation, liquidity on capital management, funding management, cash optimisation, liquidity and group treasury activities
- Must have excellent communication skills
