Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator

SHAWCO is a student-run volunteer society, and a standalone Non-profit Organisation (NPO). This duality allows SHAWCO Education the unique opportunity to engage in a variety of projects and programmes. The overall goal for SHAWCO Education is to help support students (high school and university), in as many ways as possible through its projects and programmes.

  • ROLE of Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator:
  1. To oversee all marketing and public relations operations of the sector and to develop our marketing strategy.
  2. Ensure that our marketing efforts are successful in helping us build and maintain our strong brand, both on and off-campus.
  3. Facilitate the development of student leaders and volunteers who are involved within the Education sector of SHAWCO.
  4. Recruitment and retention of volunteers.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing

  1. Develop marketing strategies to support the sector's overall growth and objectives.
  2. Liaise with other teams (Project managers and SHAWCO Health) to guide a unified approach to marketing and public relations.
  3. Develop a feasible marketing plan and oversee its day-to-day implementation.
  4. Plan and organize marketing events and ensure they project the sector's unique "voice"
  5. Design and coordinate promotional campaigns and other marketing efforts across channels (social media, press, etc.)
  6. Design and post infographics, pictures, and videos that showcase SHAWCO projects and goals
  7. Build a highly efficient Marketing and volunteering sub-team (general leadership) and supervise all teams members
  8. Any other activities which focus on the growing SHAWCO's social media presence.

Volunteering

  1. Skills training and development of SHAWCO Education volunteers and leadership through workshops and team building.
  2. Recruitment of volunteers, general leadership, and other volunteers for the sector.
  3. Ensure volunteer retention by maintaining effective relationships and through constant communication.
  4. Gain buy-in from volunteers for different projects and ensure that they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  5. Any other activities which focus on the growth and development of volunteers and leadership
