We're looking for a creative, digitally fluent storyteller who knows how to bring a brand to life online. As our Social Media & Content Creator, you'll play a key role in shaping our digital presence, creating fresh, engaging content that reflects who we are and connects meaningfully with our growers, partners, and community.
This is a hands-on, ideas-to-execution role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves exploring new trends, and enjoys translating big-picture strategies into scroll-stopping content.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement platform-specific social media strategies that grow our audience, strengthen brand visibility, and drive engagement and leads. This includes defining content themes and maintaining a calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and product priorities.
- Create and manage on-brand content, from graphics, videos, reels, and stories to written posts, across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant platforms.
- Ensure all content reflects our brand tone, seasonal focus, and current agricultural and digital trends.
- Monitor social channels to identify opportunities for engagement, track competitor activity, and identify emerging trends relevant to our industry. Use these insights to guide content creation and optimise engagement.
- Engage with our online community in a professional and approachable manner by responding to comments, messages, and mentions to build relationships, strengthen brand trust, and grow our digital presence.
- Track and analyse key performance metrics.
- Stay up to date with changes in social media tools, algorithms, and technologies. Explore new formats, AI tools and trends.
- Work closely with the PR, Marketing, and Product teams to align messaging, campaigns, and seasonal priorities. Ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
Skills and Capabilities
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
- Good visual sense and the ability to produce short-form video, copy, and visual content
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and apply insights
- Organised and proactive with attention to detail
- Collaborative and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team
- Curious and adaptable with an interest in digital trends and their application to brand growth
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communication, Media, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in social media or content creation
- Must have a strong understanding of social media platforms — including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (Twitter) with the ability to manage business accounts and tailor content to suit each platform's audience.
- Experience in agriculture or related industries is an advantage but not required; an
- interest in the sector and willingness to learn are key
- Must be based near Wellington, Western Cape (no relocation assistance provided)
- Must be available for in-person meetings at short notice
