About the role

The Client & Operations Manager role combines responsibilities across operations, client engagement, and project coordination within an investment operations context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end client onboarding, including mandates, documentation, and custodian coordination
  • Ensure compliance with FICA/KYC regulations and maintain up-to-date legal documentation
  • Reconcile transfers and establish accurate opening balances for portfolios
  • Primary contact for high-net-worth clients, resolving queries and requests
  • Prepare and distribute accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Process client instructions, including payments, withdrawals, and income requests
  • Monitor portfolio liquidity for fee coverage and cash flow needs
  • Oversee tax reporting, regulatory submissions, and investment statement reviews
  • Collaborate with auditors, compliance teams, to ensure accurate reporting
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Develop and document operational procedures and internal controls
  • Support implementation of regulatory changes and system enhancements
  • Conduct reviews to identify inefficiencies in systems and workflows

Requirements

  • BCom in Finance/Investment Management or a related degree
  • Min 5 years experience in investment operations, portfolio administration, or fund operations
  • Experience in a private wealth or asset management firm working with high-net-worth clients
  • Knowledge of both local and offshore investment structures and platforms
  • Strong understanding of portfolio mechanics and asset types
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency with portfolio systems (e.g., Bloomberg) - advantageous
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about system enhancements & improving efficiency
