Head of Finance

, to oversee the full finance function within a fast-paced financial services environment. The successful candidate must be a qualified
CA(SA)
with strong leadership capability, exceptional financial management skills, and the ability to partner closely with executive leadership to drive business performance. The role reports directly to the
CFO
and plays a pivotal part in shaping financial strategy, overseeing reporting, and ensuring the integrity of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CFO and executive team to drive organisational growth through aligned financial strategies and operational execution.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance monitoring alongside relevant financial teams.
  • Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure optimal financial positioning.
  • Oversee the year-end audit process, liaise with auditors, and review the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Advise on the accounting treatment of complex transactions and ensure accurate monthly reporting and consolidations.
  • Support the CFO and leadership team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks.
  • Partner with internal departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and banking partners.
  • Oversee the payroll team and review quarterly tax calculations (Income Tax and Deferred Tax).
  • Support the CFO in developing and growing the finance team, as well as managing ad hoc strategic projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

    m 3–4 years' post-articles experien
    ce in a senior finance or finance management role.
  • Strong understanding of financial management within the financial services sector.
  • Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a strategic mindset and experience driving financial performance.
