Senior Business Analyst BPA

Role Purpose
To lead complex business and system analysis tasks within the Business Process Automation capability specialising in understanding and improving business processes across Momentum Investments.

This includes translating complex business requirements (functional & non-functional) into a set of technical solutions.

Requirements
Qualification, Experience and Knowledge Required:

• BCom Informatics or BSC Degree.
• Diploma in Business analysis preferred.
• 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in the investment environment.
• Proven experience in business process analysis and modelling using BPMN 2.0 or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in process automation platforms (e.g., IBM BAW, AgilePoint, Appian, or Camunda)
• Exposure to service-oriented architectures (SOA) and API-driven process orchestration.
• Agile working experience preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Work Outputs:

• Lead and manage complex business analysis efforts, determine business system requirements, and identify alternatives/ areas of improvements
• Facilitate workshops, playback sessions and stakeholder engagements to elicit and identify business and system requirements, refine process understanding and validate solutions.
• Define, document and conduct end-to-end process analysis and design using BPMN and UML tools ensuring alignment between business objectives, system capabilities, and user experience.
• Translate business requirements to a level of detail appropriate for implementation using user journeys, user stories with acceptance criteria; process diagrams; data models; business rules and mockups)
• Collaborate with architects to define service boundaries, integration touchpoints, and automation opportunities.
• Partner with technical designers to understand the business Participate and provide input into the design and functional discussion with the technical designers.
• Partner with QA and solution teams to ensure test coverage across business scenarios and process paths.
• Analyze, identify and document business requirements to address process or system constraints and proactively propose sustainable solutions to recurring issues.
• Analyse system trends and proactively propose sustainable solutions.
• Support and enable training, change management, and user adoption strategies.
• Ensure effective and consistent service delivery and support to both internal and external clients in line with the MMH values.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BA methodologies, templates, and modelling standards.
• Produce key deliverables such as process maps, business cases, test scenarios, and stakeholder communications.

Technical Competencies Required:

• Proficient in BPMN 2.0 tools (e.g., Bizagi, Lucidchart).
• Able to produce UML diagrams (use case, sequence, activity) to express process and integration logic.
• Understanding of workflow engines, API orchestration, and process automation concepts.
• Comfortable working with SQL and performing data/process validation.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks and use of JIRA/Confluence for backlog management.
