IT Support Technician: L1 and L2 Technical Support (12 Month Contract), Johannesburg & KZN

We're hiring An IT Support Technician is needed to join our client on a 12-Month (Renewable) Contract in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Position Summary & Key Responsibilities:

This role involves providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support, incident resolution, and IT service request management. You'll work across help desk operations, remote support, installation, and troubleshooting - supporting a dynamic technical environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide first and second-line technical support (on-site and remote)
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues
  • Respond to service tickets and escalate complex issues when needed
  • Maintain IT inventory and asset documentation
  • Support onboarding/offboarding including account setup and access
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and security protocols
  • Assist with system updates, patch management, and user training

What you need:

3–5 years' experience in IT support roles

Experience in help desk operations and troubleshooting

Familiarity with remote support and ticketing tools

Hands-on experience with installation and call center support

Strong understanding of user account and access management

Technical Skills we're looking for:

Operating Systems: Windows, macOS, Linux

Networking: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP

Security: VPNs, firewalls

Troubleshooting: Network connectivity, OS issues, command-line tools

Debugging: Using logs for issue resolution

Qualifications (Must-have):

Diploma or Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or related field

Qualifications (Advantageous):

CompTIA A+, Network+

Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

ITIL Foundation

Pay Rate:
