A specialist recruitment consultancy is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist on behalf of a prominent client. This permanent role, based in Sandton, offers the opportunity to design, develop and deliver high-impact learning solutions across multiple formats, while contributing strategically to a forward-thinking learning environment.
Key DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting in-depth learning needs analyses and engaging stakeholders across all levels
- Designing, developing and delivering blended learning solutions, including in-person, virtual and digital formats
- Facilitating engaging leadership development and soft-skills training sessions
- Initiating and managing custom learning projects aligned with business strategy
- Contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement within the learning function
- Measuring and evaluating the impact of learning initiatives and using insights to refine solutions
- Leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance learning delivery and engagement
- Implementing best practice methodologies such as ADDIE and 6Ds, ensuring high-quality content and facilitation
- Upholding quality assurance standards and compliance requirements
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, Organisational Development, Learning and Development or a related field
- Formal training or certification in instructional design, adult learning or L&D methodologies (e.g., 6Ds, ADDIE)
- 5–7 years' experience in an L&D Specialist role
- A strong track record in designing and delivering leadership and soft-skills programmes within large organisations
- Extensive experience consulting with stakeholders and conducting learning needs analyses
- Strong capability in designing and facilitating multi-format learning interventions
- Experience managing end-to-end learning projects, including impact measurement
- Demonstrated strategic contribution within a complex business environment
- Familiarity with financial services (advantageous)
- Experience using AI-driven tools for learning design and delivery (strongly preferred)
- Strong facilitation, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to think strategically, innovate, adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
