Core Responsibilities of an HR Generalist

  1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  2. Write and post job ads

  3. Screen CVs, arrange interviews, and coordinate hiring processes
  4. Prepare offer letters and employment contracts
  5. Run new-employee inductions and onboarding sessions

  6. Employee Relations

  7. Act as the first point of contact for staff issues or grievances

  8. Support disciplinary procedures and performance management
  9. Ensure compliance with Labour Relations Act and company policies
  10. Maintain a positive and productive workplace culture

  11. HR Administration

  12. Maintain employee records and HR databases

  13. Manage leave, absenteeism, and attendance tracking
  14. Ensure all documentation (contracts, warnings, appraisals) is up to date
  15. Handle HR reporting for management

  16. Payroll & Benefits Support

  17. Collect and verify payroll data (hours worked, leave, deductions)

  18. Liaise with finance/payroll department or external provider
  19. Administer benefits like medical aid, provident fund, etc.

  20. Training & Development

  21. Identify training needs with line managers

  22. Coordinate internal and external training sessions
  23. Keep records of training and skills development

  24. Compliance & Policies

  25. Ensure the company complies with BCEA, EEA, and LRA

  26. Assist with Employment Equity reports and Skills Development submissions
  27. Help review and update HR policies

Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: R20 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
