As part of your portfolio as
Manager: Product Platforms
, you will:

  • Support the creation of the strategy for Senior Manager: Product Platforms stream in line with the overarching business goals
  • Support effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps
  • Translate Product and Platforms strategy into operational initiatives and plans and drive execution
  • Define detailed Product & Platforms plans for various Fintech products and services
  • Support the design, development, and delivery of products to include software: architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, development of coding standards, design and development of source code and test plans, code and module design, development and testing, application debugging
  • Support the building/ development of products in line with the overall FINCO strategy and business plan
  • Prioritizing and supporting the work of multiple consumer-facing products and providing a cohesive vision across the organization.
  • Participate in strategic meetings, ensure relevant participation, and provide guidance and input in the various discussions. Solicit feedback and input
  • Drive adequate risk mitigation and controls and elicit inputs from relevant parties
  • Create appropriate escalation matrix and mechanism for the team. Review and resolve issues with minimal impact to overall program delivery
  • Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact
  • Craft all projects initiated (internal or global)
  • Review and finalise objectives, targets, and budgets for the function as applicable
  • Review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
  • Monitor performance and alignment with Fintech global strategy
  • Ensure alignment between other functions within Group Finco teams
  • Support GM Platform, DevOps & Engineering and providing monthly reports to the Fintech Executive and/or Group Finco Exco relating to progress made in accordance with the delivery of the Products and Platform roadmap from both project, implementation, and performances perspectives
  • Report on an ad-hoc basis on specific management requirements as and when necessary

The incumbent
must have
the following:

  • Minimum of 4-year tertiary degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications, insurance, banking, mobile money, or software engineering
  • Manager track record of 1-2 years or more; with at least 2 years' experience in telecommunications, software engineering, Product design, development and management, business critical applications design and development or platform management
  • Good understanding of software and solution architecture
  • Hands on experience in managing, leading and implementing innovative product management strategies
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven and ability to motivate a fast-paced team
  • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Pan Africa multi-cultural experience is advantageous
