Your day at NTT DATA
The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying WAN connectivity solutions for clients, including both access-based and VPN-based products. This role involves configuring and installing Cisco and Fortigate SD-WAN technologies in accordance with established standards and best practices. Precision and attention to detail during installations are critical. As a customer-facing position, the role demands exceptional communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- The role involves implementing Access and MPLS VPN-based network solutions, as well as implementation of SD-WAN solutions.
- The engineer will be responsible for the precise and timely execution of installations, along with the necessary administrative tasks required to close out jobs and projects.
- This is a customer-facing position, requiring proactive follow-up with clients to ensure satisfaction and successful delivery.
- Configuring and installing Cisco and Fortigate SD-WAN products.
Academic Qualifications/certifications, required experience and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computing or a related field.
- relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology is required; a B.Sc Eng, B.Sc, or B.Comm is preferred.
- Cisco certification: CCNA required; actively pursuing CCIP or CCNP is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies, including Meraki, Viptela, and Fortigate.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a networking environment.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of networking topologies and TCP/IP protocols.
- Standby and overtime as required.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and network architecture.
- Familiarity with routing protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and HSRP.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and task ownership.
- High levels of accuracy and diligence in all aspects of their work.
- Strong communication and writing skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- A team-oriented attitude, especially within small, agile groups.
- A friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic personality.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- A desire to grow professionally within a dynamic organization.
