- Managing the team (Outsourced Business, co-insurance, Aggregates, SASRIA)
- Communicating and interacting effectively with people at all levels
- Reporting in terms of the Business Unit’s operations
- Reporting Outsourced Business, co-insurance, Aggregates, SASRIA
- Ensuring compliance to contracted service levels and optimization of processes
- Documentation and management of Lost Economic Opportunities (LEO) trends and deviations
- Management of data
- Ensuring client satisfaction improvement using CSI results
- Ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements
- Responsible for staff morale
- Managing of external and internal relationships
- Handling of performance related issues and disciplinary matters
- Leading and motivating staff
- Managing, supporting and developing a team of people to ensure service delivery
- Provide technical claims support
- Quality management/assurance for binder holders by providing a value-added quality assurance and auditing function that assists management.
- Interact with Santam claims services
- Client care and OSTI referrals.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the business

**Minimum Requirements**: Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- Insurance related qualification
- Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point)
- 5-7 years claims services - short term insurance environment both personal and commercial.
- Strong client service orientation
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Experience in managing, developing & coaching staff (advantage)
- Experience in correlating information, interpreting same and report on the information

Knowledge
- Fully computer literate (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Relevant System knowledge (including Internal Santam Systems)
- Technical product knowledge with regards to short term insurance
- Understand the typical Claims value chain.
- Knowledge of claims processes
- Working knowledge of Santam Systems (e.g. Persetel & JDE)
- Personal & Commercial Lines experience/knowledge
- Knowledge of claims processes and claims handling skills
- Insurance product and process knowledge Qualification and Experience Grade 12 with 4 to 6 years related experience. Knowledge and Skills Claims administration Claims settlements of a complex nature Payment approval and rejections Operate within claims guidelines and compliance Coach and mentor less experienced short term claims clerks Personal Attributes Business insight - Contributing independently Manages complexity - Contributing independently Plans and aligns - Contributing independently Interpersonal savvy - Contributing independently Build a successful career with us
